We added a new Advanced Company Store permission to our features called Custom Data Collections. This functionality allows your client to control which custom data fields the user sees on the checkout page.
What is a Custom Data Collection?
A Custom Data Collection allows you to collecting additional information from the shopper on the checkout page outside of the standard shipping, payment and address information already available.
For example, a Custom Data Collection could be a dropdown asking if the order requires a gift box. Here is how that may like look on the checkout page:
For help setting up a Custom Data Collection, see our Support Suite article.
Why Permissions?
Permissions are important because they give your clients control over what their users and user groups can see and access. For example, maybe certain products are available for the marketing department to purchase for trade shows but not for users in other departments.
Permissions are features unique to a promo eCommerce platform (recent blog!); you won’t find them in retail eCommerce technology out on the market.
Remember that only Advanced Company Stores are equipped with Permissions capabilities. So, if your client wants to elevate their level of control to the top, Advanced is the way to go.
